My tattoos, each of them represents something different and unique to me.
Hopefully I will get a few more one of these years but for now this is what I have.
Celtic Tree of Life - Harmony and balance in the universe and the knotting means strong family pride
The sign of the Capricorn, but not quite. This tattoo is uniquely mine because the artist lost the outline while wiping and went from memory. I couldn't tell the difference until a few days later and now just refuse to have it fixed. Its my 76/Capricorn!
My very first tattoo. I was 18 and my parents were in Hawaii for their anniversary. I always had this obsession with butterflies, about their growth, change, rebirth. How they represented our souls. Yada yada yada... no one cares about that when they see this... they see Butterfly Tramp Stamp. Oh well. It has meaning to me.
The initials surrounding it belong to my Uncle Craig who died by suicide in December of 2002. That was my second tattoo. It served as a reminder for what can come of excess and a memory of him.
Now I want to have the T (which looks like a J) changed to a J and a B added to it. That would be Chris, Brian, Jennifer and Elizabeth... my immediate family.
Celtic Knot for Eternity - I actually just really liked this design. It was on a pair of earrings that I bought from a cool hippie chick and liked it so much that I wanted it forever. So my sister, cousin and I decided that this would be a good representation as a family tattoo and for Uncle Craig. (Our family's pretty diverse and we don't share last names, so there was not a crest to choose from) We all three went to Saints Tattoo one day while Bob was in town and got this on our right hip. It wasn't until later that someone told Bob that Eternity is what it meant. Worked out well :)
Tattoos that I want to get:
"Ema" Hebrew word for Mother
משפחה
"Mispacha" Hebrew word for Family
The mustache tattoo, uber trendy so I won't get one, but I really want one because I think they're hysterical!
