0-4

I can't help but feeling overly emotional that Rupert is growing up so fast...
So here's a photo blog of him from birth to 4.

My baby

Sooo big

4 years old

Rupert's 4th Birthday

How has four years passed so quickly by??
I know its all cliche and whatnot, but it really seems like yesterday when we were bringing our little 5 lb burrito home from the hospital.
(Sigh) At least he still loves to snuggle.

When we woke up on Sunday morning, the first thing I said to Rupert was "Guess what today is!"
He responded in a mumble because he was mostly asleep and I told him it was his birthday!
He popped up and seemed very excited, but then the strangest thing happened...
It seemed as if he could not comprehend that he was now a year older.
He kept on saying "No, I'm fwee" and I'd say "No, you're 4 now"
He decided that he could not be 4 years old because he could not yet reach the top of the Christmas tree! (Poor kid thought he would grow 3 feet overnight or something!)

Later in the day, when he was resigned to being four, he started cussing.
Yes, cussing.
We were sitting on the couch and underneath his breath he said "Dammit"
I looked at him and did the classic Mom "What did you just say?!?"
He looked me straight in the face and said "dammit" again.
I must have looked completely shocked because he started looking at me funny.
I then proceeded to tell him that he could not say that word.
His response?
"But I'm fo (four) now!"
My response... "I don't care how old you are!"
Four year old's reponse "Well, I care..."

Later in the day he tried to drop the F bomb... oh yeah, he sure did.
He's 200% my child.
I know this.
I did the EXACT same thing when I was around his age.
It's one of my Grandma Tonagel's favorite stories :)

On a different note...

We had his birthday party that day at my parents' house, as usual, and it was wonderful, as usual.
The kids were bouncing off the walls (nothing new),
Rupert got WAY too much stuff (boo-hoo right?!?),
I might have drank some wine (shocker),
and a good time was had by all!

Here are some of the pictures from the party...
I still just can't believe he's so big!!! :(
