Knit A Square

If you are into knitting, like I currently am, there is an amazing website that you have to check out...

http://www.knit-a-square.com/

It's crochet and knitting for charities, particularly for orphans in Africa. Many of whom are AIDS orphans. Their main thing is that you can knit or crochet an 8 inch square, send it to them and they make quilts that are given to orphans and abandoned children.
If you want to do more than one square, they have links to all kinds of things that you can make and donate.

If you like knitting as much as GG and me, you run out of things to make or people to make them for... and what's better than doing something for a charity. Even if you don't knit/crochet you should definitely check it out.
Also, since there are deprived people in our own backyards, let's not forget the Appalachian folks too...

Santa TrainTrain runs the weekend before Thanksgiving throwing gifts from the train to families in Appalachia. Knitted hats, scarves and mittens are welcomed.

And there's always hospitals, NICUs, retirement homes, hospices, police departments/ fire departments. Any kind of local outreach program, you can google it. I did.

So just pick a charity that's close to you heart and go for it!
