Day 44

Day 44 - A picture that describes your life

Like one picture can describe someone's life.
Ok, maybe if you have a skilled photographer taking pictures of your everyday special moments.
But I don't...

So we'll just get this ball a rollin.

Rupert's first steps on a beach
The pride, joy, love and experiences this little bundle of boy has given me over the last three years has been incredible.
Everyday is something new and different.
Something redundant turns into a brand new experience with him.
He makes every day incredible... even when I want to pull my hair out.

My job...
As much as I enjoyed being a stay at home mom (and given the chance would do it again in a heart beat)...
I LOVE MY JOB

I work at Bandit Lites.
We are the second largest lighting company in the world.
It's insane.
I don't do anything fancy, I'm the "Administrative Assistant"
So I answer phones, do some payroll work and bills, that kind of thing.
But my coworkers are amazing and the company is outrageously interesting.

Most annoying question when I tell people where I work: "Do you get to go to all kinds of concerts"
Answer: "No not really, just depends on who it is and what's happening at the time"

Long story short though, we work with incredible artists and I get to hear and see alot of behind the scenes stuff that is just plain fun.

How could you not enjoy coming to work here every day?

My hubby, the best man in the world.
He's a giant part of my day.
We chat a little while we work but when we get home the entire dynamic changes.
It's comforting to be in his presence.
He puts me at ease by sitting on the couch with me.
He puts up with all my shit... which there's always an abundance of!
He's a wonderful father and Rupert ADORES him.
I LOVE THIS MAN.
Enough said.

Coffee.
Not from Starbucks though... stupid corporate so and so's...
From Mojoe's of course!
I can't live without it.
Ok, maybe I can, but I definitely don't want to.
That's my first stop in the morning after dropping Rupert off at daycare.
It's at this point that my day has really begun.

GG

Mom and Dad

And my day is never complete if I haven't talked to these three people at least once.
Or one of them if they're all together.
Or emailed or text or something...
We talk everyday.
We talk about how are day/week is going.
Catch up on any gossip, health issues, toddler stories, etc.
But the line of communication is always there and will remain that way as long as I have a say about it!
I love my family.

Averielle Elaina Moses

One of my best friends, my very first friend when I moved to Knoxville at the tender and impressionable age of 12, just gave birth to her first baby yesterday.
I cannot explain the emotions that overwhelmed me.
It was like having my own child all over again.

I couldn't miss work so her mom and husband kept in contact all day, checking in on her progress and the like.
When I finally got word that the baby had arrived I was smiling, crying, telling everyone...
And when I finally saw the picture I melted.
Averielle Elaina Moses, born at 12:20pm on 4/12/11
Weighed 6 lbs 5.9oz and is 19.25 inches long

When I got there last night I felt an instant connection to her.
The only way I can put it into words is comparing it to the day I had Rupert.
I don't know if it's because Adrienne and I have been bffs forever and a day or what, but I love this child unconditionally.

Adrienne and Wesley are going to make amazing parents.
They are both so compassionate, intelligent, loving, fun people that there is no way this child will be underprivileged in any faction of her life.

I cannot wait to see how this new little family takes its course.

I love you guys and I wish you all the best.

Love,
Aunt Jenny

Door Art

The inside of the front door at Mojoe's has that really cool chalk paint on it.
So, naturally, people draw on it all the time.
The chalk is sitting on a pedestal next to the door so that you feel free to express yourself.

Since I'm there everyday, I get to watch the ebb and flow of art, scribbles, jokes, politics, quotes, etc.
It always reminds me of that magnadoodle in Friends.
Remember the one that hung in Chandler and Joey's apartment.
It changed in every episode.
In fact, there used to be an entire website devoted to that thing.
Idk if it even exists anymore.

Anyhoo, I took some pictures this morning because I thought some of this was funny and there was definitely some good art.

Enjoy!

I am outrageously corny but I laughed hysterically when I saw this.

The Mojoe's mascot, Jitters

Garfield and I heart Vikings... enough said

A Johann von Goethe quote, why not?

I love this angry dinosaur/alien thing.
I think he's precious.

Also, you can't quite see it but the quote by Jitters says "Everything is worth the price the purchaser will pay for it"

Weekend Update

Rupert "Mommy, I pick you flower"

Dogwood blossoms from the tree in our backyard.

My bff, Ryan and I having a brewsky in the backyard.

Rupert taking pictures again.

Trying to get a picture of Rupert.

Rupert taking pictures of Ry, he was being a good sport.

Rupert "Mommy, I pick you more flowers"

I'm pretty sure he depleted the entire tree but it was soooo cute!

Ryan and me again, I love this kid.

Cousin Lauren and Rupert catching up at GG's house

Rupert doing some serious cheesin.

Taylor aka TayTay, Rupert and Lauren

The guys
Uncle Andy, Rupert and Taylor

Aunt Pam and me.
She said this picture truly reflected the way she felt... tired.
They drove through the night from Neenah, Wisconsin.

Aunt Pam, Taylor and me at Cracker Barrel

Uncle Andy and Rupert with his head sized lollipop

The whole gang getting coffee at Mojoe's before they hit the road for Disney that day.

I love and miss them so much, its pretty ridiculous.

The whole WHOLE gang because Chris met up with us too!

This also marked the first time that Aunt Pam and I have said goodbye to each other and not cried, like in 20 years.
BUT that's only because they'll be back through in 2 weeks :)

On Sunday we took a drive up to Maryville and drove by the Pigeon River for a bit because it was such a gorgeous day.
Rupert and I even took our shoes off and dipped our toes in.
It was nice cold mountain water :)

Steph came with us, it was her idea to begin with, so we had to get a shot of us.
Love my Stephie.

Mary Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow?

With silver bells and cockle shells and pretty maids all in a row.

My little strawberry plant is getting so big!

YIPPEE

It's almost like I'm a real gardener.
I will not make that claim until this garden produces something though... I know better than to count my eggs.

It was a glorious weekend, again, and again went by far too quickly.
Only a few more days til the next one...
Is it bad that I'm counting down?

Day 43 - A picture of your room

My room... its my pseudo sanctuary, my clothes and shoes explosion area and the place where I get to curl up every night next to my best friend (I'm a lucky gal)

The walls are textured (it was that way when we bought the house) but this is our first bedroom suite.
How flippin fancy is that?!?!?
It took Chris and I quite awhile to agree on one we both liked.
Since he did furniture design and all that stuff in college he didn't want to get something that he could make.
Whateves, I love it.
It's a sleigh bed but only slightly and I love the individual slats at the top, though it does make dusting rather difficult.
On our nightstand are the 4, yes 4, medicines I take every night.
I am so old.
There's also one of our engagement pictures, a leaf plate (catch all), a candle and a lint roller.
We're cool kids.

This is the matching dresses to the afore mentioned bed.
Can't get a really good shot of it because its directly at the foot of our bed.
We have a small room.
On it is a wedding picture frame/clock, 2 of those Willow people, a picture of Chris's Grandpa who passed this year, a picture of Adrienne and I on her wedding day, a sketch of Owl from Winnie the Pooh that Chris drew,a picture of Aunt Pam, Uncle Craig and me and last but certainly not least... my autograph from Topol.
On the mirror is a dental xray of Chris's (they accidentally made 2 so they gave us one. I think it looks neat), a pass to The Gruesome Twosome show, a pic of Ru, a Mother's Day card he made me last year and also a picture of Chris passed out in a bathroom from college :)
Hehehe

This is my closet/shoe explosion.
No point in cleaning it up to take a picture first because that would be a lie.
It ALWAYS looks like this.
On the full length mirror is a strip of pictures from Christmas two years ago that Chris and I took at one of those photo booth things in a movie theatre.
The other pic is of Chris (as Titler), Jeff Calvert and some girl I don't know from a college Halloween party.
So since she's not still a friend of theirs, I cut and pasted a random picture of me to her spot!
It's pretty darn funny too because the pic is black and white and mine sure is color.

This concludes the nickel tour of my bedroom.
Please feel free to show yourselves out after you have finished looking.
You may find me on the couch if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Day 42

Day 42 - A picture of your I pod

When I first read this, I thought it extremely presumptuous.
Not everyone owns an ipod!

Then I realized how old I am...
Ipod are not new anymore.
There's like 568974841514578974 different kinds.
Most people do own an ipod or at the least, an MP3 player.
And if they don't, it's because their phone has one built in.

So yeah, with all of that being said...
Chris gave me my ipod for a super early Christmas present in October of 2005.
I was hungover/sick as a dog, unable to move from the couch and he gave it to me early to cheer me up and help me feel better.

This thing has been through hell and back.
I'm not as gentle as one should be with eletronics.
So it has been stuffed in bags, purses, pockets, under the seat in the car, and in the glove box.
It has been on a multitude of road trips and flights and has never let me down.
It is my eclectic baby.

It is completely covered in scratches, it does not play movies or have pictures and I love it.

Appropriately playing "Ghostbusters" which is Ru's new favorite song

Chris had it engraved for me too.
It says: To My Goobity, Jennifer Lenae Reid
