Day 17

Day 17 - A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently.
September 26, 2010, the day of Stephanie and Jason's wedding...
Chris and I had separated, I had moved out, we were sharing custody of Rupert and trying to figure out what the next step would be. It was a horrible time. Chris went with me to the wedding because they are our friends, not just mine, and we ended up reconciling. We had tried a hundred times to have conversations about what was happening, tried to express to the other how we felt and to this point nothing had come of it but more fighting. I don't know what happened on that rainy day and I don't care. It was just like something clicked and things were fine again. It was one of the most miraculous things to happen to me recently and it has definitely had a huge impact on my life! :)

Day 16

Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you.
My mom, hands down inspires me more than any person I've ever met. Watching her battle breast cancer was so hard and yet so inspiring. She never gave up. She rarely let herself have a bad day. She suffered the torture that is chemotherapy and radiation, lost all of her hair (which is sooo hard emotionally) and kept right on working and being the magnificent person that she is. I would love to post some pictures of her from throughout her treatments, but she'd kill me. She didn't like not having hair... who would?? Even when I was a little girl I wanted to grow up and be just like my mommy. She's always been so loving and caring, stayed at home when we were kids, always sacrificed her wants and needs. She's the most amazing person I know and I only pray that I can be half the mom to Rupert that she has been to me.

And a million other things too... but as you can see, most of it involves travelling. Think I'm itching for a vacation??

It's a good Monday

The Oscars were very underwhelming last night. It's like no one was excited to be there... there was no energy BUT the fashion was superb!
So it's a good Monday because Fashion Police will be on tonight and I get to spend the day perusing my favorite red carpet looks and Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" 7.5 minute video premiered in all of its edgy glory!!
My oh my!!

Mila Kunis in Elie Saab Haute Couture

Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Haute Couture

Gwyneth Paltrow At The 2011 Oscars Academy Awards
Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein

Halle Berry At The 2011 Oscars Academy Awards
Halle Berry in Marchesa.... of course... that's a no brainer...

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE some of these looks and can't wait for them to trickle down to my meager end of the shopping population. One can dream.

Since I started typing this post the weather has gotten HORRIBLE. Like flood warnings, tornado warnings... its FUNKY. When I went on lunch it was pouring rain but in the hour until I got back the roads flooded out and my car almost stalled bc some of it was so deep. Ugh! So if you are in East Tennessee don't go anywhere! Just stay put!

Day 14

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.

Rupert Reid Harris
He's the best thing that's ever happened to me and I cannot imagine a day with out him. A day without his silliness, his laughter, his non-stop talking, his dancing, his BILLIONS of potty breaks, the way he eats a sandwich, the way he snores and snuggles, without hearing ROGER DODGER... he's the light of my life.

Of course, Rupert wouldn't be here if it weren't for Chris whom I love and can't imagine a day without.
And I wouldn't be here with out my Mom and Dad...

I cannot imagine a day without a single one of my family members. They are all so much a part of my life and a part of who I am.

My friends as well. We've all been through so much together and friends for so long that we basically are family.

So yeah, anyone that I love... but Rupert most because he's my baby boy.

Spring Cleaning

Today has been long and draining but completely exhilarating as well. It was spring cleaning day at my house and Steph came over to help. Chris was on Rupert duty, he might have Ponyo memorized now... while Stephanie and I tore apart our spare room and decluttered and reorganized all our stuff. We've been in this house almost six years now and its just amazing the amount of JUNK that accumulates when you're not looking!
I wish I had taken pictures of all the crap we threw out and took to Goodwill. It was ridiculous!
Loaded up the 4 Runner twice for donations to Goodwill and one massive load to the dumpster.
There's still more to do but it's mainly organizing, dusting and the attic.... ewwww... that's a whole other weekend. Shew.
For now I feel super duper cleansed and am ready to take a hot shower and watch the Academy Awards.

This is what I felt my spare room looked like before we cleaned it.... but not really bc its a picture that comes up when you google hoarders. :)

And this is what I feel like our spare room looks like now.... but once again, not really bc this is what comes up when you google organized room :)

hehehehe... one of these days when I get the house totally spic and span I will take pictures and post them.
So in other words, never gonna happen.

This list is in no order and is not by far complete.
It's just the only ones that popped into my head right away.

Day 11

Day 11 - A picture of something you hate.
This one's gonna be easy.

I hate hate hate loathe and hate some more bigots. Yep, bigots. They make me sick. I cannot fathom wanting to destroy someone for the color of their skin, their religion, their sexuality, etc etc.
I am always fascinated by WWII and the Holocaust because I can't imagine people doing things like that to each other. Same thing with Stonewall, Civil Rights Movement, and all other events similar to that.
I don't understand how someone doesn't understand or care that people are people and that everyone deserves to be equal.
It literally makes me sick.
So here's some pictures of Westboro Baptist Church and their hateful, derogatory, bigoted signs.

Yep, that's them. The people that protest at soldier's funerals and all the other atrocious things they do.
I understand that they have a right to free speech and their own opinions. I just can't imagine thinking or acting as they do.

Also, here's some examples of things cause by bigots...

Holocaust

Stonewall

Civil Rights Movement

KKK lynching

Mussolini

Pol Pot

Ok, I think that's enough examples.
